Chris was commissioned to redraw the Ashling Park crest, the design takes clues from the existing stonework that sits at the entrance to the Estates’ house. It pays tribute to the Air Marshal, Viscount Lord Portal, whose family once owned Ashling Park. The Estate is situated in the village of West Ashling, West Sussex, and dates back to 1822. It is now run by the Gardner family who have set up a vineyard on the Estate grounds, producing award winning wines.

I take a keen interest in my local surrounding countryside, and not every village can say it has a vineyard on its doorstep! Especially one that produces the quality of Ashling Park. So when I was commissioned to update the Estates’ crest I was very pleased at the opportunity to work with a piece of local heritage that has also become a success story for English wines.
